Overview

Be part of one of the UK’s leading small animal veterinary centres!

A great opportunity has arisen for an additional Emergency clinician to join our expanding team working within our stunning, purpose-built, state-of-the-art Veterinary Hospital.

This role will provide a unique opportunity to:

  • Provide emergency care for a wide range of cases from our local primary care practices
  • Work alongside Specialists in multiple disciplines to support the provision of emergency referrals
  • Deliver exceptional inpatient care to emergency cases requiring prolonged hospitalisation and to critical cases, with support from our ECC Specialists.

The successful applicant should have at least two years of postgraduate experience in small animal practice and share our values of providing the best possible levels of care. There will be ample support and great case exposure for those interested in enrolling on a certificate, or plenty of scope to develop your skills further if you already have a postgraduate qualification. The position could also suit individuals with ambitions to undertake Specialist training in the future.

  • In contrast to other emergency services, the rota allows working during evenings and days with no dedicated overnight shifts
  • Emergency vets would work in a great hospital working closely with ECC specialists and interns, and working alongside regular primary care vets and specialists in multiple other disciplines, giving excellent support
  • Learning and development is strongly supported
  • We are therefore looking for:
    • Vets qualified for at least a few years
    • Primary care experience very useful
    • Experience in emergency work also very useful
    • All-round lovely people who can fit into a team.

This well-remunerated position has working hours consisting of 5–7 day blocks (averaging 45 hours per week) of dayshifts or backshifts (evenings) with some on-call. Weekend work would typically be 1:3 to 1:4; a rotating rota gives regular blocks of 14 days off to ensure an outstanding work-life balance.

Package includes a competitive salary, ranging from £50,000 upwards (D.O.E.), plus a signing bonus!
