Elizabeth Baines

Lizza qualified from Cambridge in 1990. She developed an interest in radiology whilst in small animal practice in the West Midlands and Manchester and gained the RCVS Certificate in Radiology in 1995. In 1998 she began a residency in Diagnostic Imaging, gaining the RCVS Diploma in Veterinary Radiology in 2000 and becoming a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging in 2001. On completion of her residency in 2001, Elizabeth was appointed as Clinical Radiologist at Cambridge, where she remained for a further 3 years. In 2004, she moved to the Royal Veterinary College as a Lecturer in Diagnostic Imaging until joining Willows in September 2011.

Lizza has been an examiner for the RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging for several years and is currently an examiner for the Diagnostic Imaging modules of the RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice. She is a scrutineer on the BVA/KC canine hip and elbow dysplasia health schemes and works as a consultant for Idexx.

Lizza has a number of imaging publications in scientific journals and is a contributor to the BSAVA Manuals of Canine and Feline Thoracic Imaging, Canine and Feline Abdominal Imaging and Canine and Feline Cardiorespiratory Medicine (second edition) and the BSAVA Foundation Manual of Radiography and Radiology.

Lizza is delighted to work in the specialist imaging team at Willows, providing the best possible service to both the primary care clinicians and the multi-disciplinary specialist team. Her particular interests are in anatomy and imaging in oncology.

When not at work, Lizza enjoys singing, ice-skating and looking after her two daughters and three cats.
