Exam success for a Vet at Willows has seen him join the top echelon of his profession.
Dan Nicholls has successfully passed his ACVAA diploma exams to become an American Specialist in Anaesthesia and Analgesia, further boosting our expert team.
Dan, who joined Willows last year, said: “I feel deeply privileged that I’ve joined such a select group of veterinary professionals, many of whom have provided inspiration to me as my career has progressed.
“I’m thrilled to have passed and look forward to continue helping patients and clients along with the rest of the team at Willows.”
Since graduating from Nottingham Vet School in 2015 and working in Shropshire as a small animal vet for a couple of years, Dan completed a rotating internship at Cambridge Vet School followed by a three-year residency in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia at the Royal Veterinary College.
This also included completing a Masters program in Veterinary Medicine. After undertaking his residency, Dan joined Willows in 2022 as a clinician in Anaesthesia and Analgesia.
Dan added: “I love being part of a multi-disciplinary hospital with so many experienced and knowledgeable people who take pride in what they do. Having Specialists in other fields all under one roof allows me to provide the best care to each of my patients.”
“My ambitions going forward are to help my team keep progressing and innovating our care as well as to teach future generations of veterinary nurses and surgeons all that I can.”
Chris Shales, Clinical Director at Willows, said: “Our congratulations go to Dan whose hard work and determination has seen him excel in his exams.
“He’s a credit to Willows and the veterinary profession and he’s now recognised as a Specialist, which is an amazing achievement.”
Away from work, Dan, enjoys time with his working cocker spaniel and watching any sport he can.
