What can I expect if my pet is referred for a dental procedure?

When your pet is referred, you will meet one of our friendly team members who will guide you through the treatment options as well as the treatment process. Most dentistry procedures do not require overnight hospitalisation therefore your pet should be ready to go home the same day.

All of our treatments will require your pet to undergo general anaesthesia. Your pet will have a professional dental cleaning followed by a detailed oral assessment which includes dental radiography and photography. Following this assessment, we will update you on the findings whilst your pet is anaesthetised, and treatment plans will be discussed. We aim to keep you updated throughout the procedure and our team are happy to answer any questions as they arise. We aim to perform any treatment on the same day.

 Long-term management:

We will send a referral letter to your Primary Vet detailing the oral findings and treatment following your pet’s visit to us. Following treatment, your pet will require a follow-up examination which can either be performed at Willows or if you prefer, at your local veterinary hospital. Our team will liaise with you and your Primary Care Vet regarding any further follow-up and ongoing treatment if required.
