Five positions will be available on our rotating structured internship program to start in January 2022.
As part of Willows’ Small Animal Internship, the successful applicants will enter a detailed training programme assisting in the throughput of our Orthopaedic, Ophthalmic, Neurological, Medical, Oncological, Cardiology, Dermatology and Soft Tissue Surgery patients, as well as helping with their ongoing management and care. There are also structured rotations within our Emergency and Critical Care, Anaesthesia, and Diagnostic Imaging departments. Intern responsibilities include assisting ECC and patient care teams with out-of-hours night and weekend duties, incorporating an emergency service for primary clinic patients. We currently have a team of ten rotating Interns.
The applicants should be highly motivated and have excellent communication skills – very good command of spoken and written English is essential. The candidates should have had at least two years post-graduate experience of working in small animal practice, with at least some of this time spent in the UK and be keen to join a friendly team environment that is dedicated to the provision of the highest level of care for our patients, clients and referring Veterinary Surgeons. Our philosophy is very much one of friendly co-operation between all team members with a collaborative culture between clinicians working across every specialism.
Willows is extremely proud to have a strong track record of Interns going on to undertake Specialist training in different disciplines. To this end, Interns are mentored and supported in undertaking clinical research, presentations and publications.
Interviews will be held online via Microsoft Teams on Thursday, 19th August 2019.
